The Rev. Kenneth (Ken) Fields
Ken brings a wealth of experience to his position as Vice-Rector. Prior to his ordination, Ken was in the education field, serving colleges in Florida and Alabama. After his ordination, he started and served as Rector of St. Thomas Episcopal Church in Birmingham, Alabama for several years. He then served as the Deputy for Communications and Clergy Development under Bishop Miller in the Diocesan offices before being appointed by the Diocese of Alabama as Chaplain and Rector of Canterbury Chapel at the University of Alabama in Tuscaloosa, Alabama where he served for 12 years.
Ken has served in a wide variety of Diocesan and Provincial offices, including the Commission on Ministry and Standing Committee for the Diocese of Alabama. He also served as the editor for the Diocesan Newspaper for several years. His wife, Mary Alice, is a very gifted musician and continues to serve the library system at the University of Alabama as a consultant to the Dean of Libraries. Ken will continue to oversee the staff, worship, and stewardship ministries of the Parish and assist the Rector in fulfilling the vision for our life together.
Ken and Mary Alice have one daughter (Shannon Pate) and two grandsons — a 4-year old named Logan and a 2-year old named Jonah. Shannon, her husband Tim, and the grandchildren have joined them here in Houston.*
