
The Rev. Massey Gentry
The Rev. Massey Gentry became the Vice-Rector of St. Martin's in February, 2006. His responsibilities
include serving as Director of Worship and Director of Stewardship.
Prior to coming to St. Martin's, Father Gentry was the Rector of Christ Church in Las Vegas, the largest parish in Nevada, since 1997. He also was the Canon to the Ordinary (the Bishop's primary assistant) of the Diocese of Alabama from 1989-1997. He served in several parishes in the Diocese of Alabama from 1978-1989.
The Rev. Massey Gentry is a graduate of Birmingham-Southern College, and also holds degrees from the Chicago Theological Seminary and the School of Theology of the University of the South. He served eight years as a cleric in the Methodist Church as a college chaplain before his ordination in the Episcopal Church in 1978.
A family man, Father
Gentry and his wife Janeth (Jan) have four grown children (two sons and
two daughters), and two grandchildren. Jan is a horsewoman (dressage)
and an oncology nurse. Father Gentry runs, bikes, swims and plays tennis
in his spare time.
