Programs for Men

Sun., Feb 05Serve as an Usher
Do you still remember when you visited St. Martin's for the very first time? Chances are you do, and you also probably remember that one of the first people to greet and assist you would have been one of our wonderful Ushers.

If you've ever thought about joining this team of friendly and engaging folks, now is the time to volunteer! Older teens and young adults are welcome to serve as Ushers, too. Our Ushers serve on rotating teams, according to their schedule and service time preferences. No one is expected to usher every Sunday. The work of the Usher ministry is not difficult, but it is highly visible and important. The Ushers are integral to making sure visitors feel welcome and that all aspects of our worship services flow smoothly.

Becoming an Usher is a terrific way to get to know others while providing valuable service to our Parish. Our Ushers enjoy a strong camaraderie with one another, and get together regularly for fellowship. Training is provided, and no prior experience is needed. Simply contact Kristin Early in the Vice-Rector's office to sign up today!

To volunteer or for more information, contact Kristin Early at 713/985-3848.

Men's Life: The Great Adventure meets most Wednesday mornings in the Activity Center Upper Hall. This program is led by the Rev. Dr. John K. Graham.

Topics during this segment:
January 11: One of History's Best Great Adventurers

And when it does, the adventure and excitement of what your life means and where it's going become harder and harder to define.

Can life be an adventure again? Absolutely! Over 20 weeks, you will find ways that are in every man's reach. You will learn how to develop a satisfying personal mission for your life and how to leave a legacy in your life that will bless others.

Are you ready for a change? Are you ready to lift your head up to catch a glimpse of just how much more God has in store for you? If so, you're ready for The Great Adventure.

And when it does, the adventure and excitement of what your life means and where it's going become harder and harder to define.

Are you ready for a change? Are you ready to lift your head up to catch a glimpse of just how much more God has in store for you? If so, you're ready for The Great Adventure.

The Lazarus Guild of St. Martin's has for many years exercised a wonderful ministry. Composed mostly of men who are retired, the Guild is primarily responsible for providing ushers for funerals at St. Martin's. Through its service, the members minister to those who mourn in many other ways as well. Occasionally the Guild provides ushers for special events during the week. Sun., Apr 01Serve as an Usher
