Wed., Feb 10	Noon Organ Recital (free) A Noon Organ Recital Series (free) is offered on the 2nd and 4th Wednesdays of each month, from 12:00-12:30 PM, in association with the Docent Guild tour. Exceptions to this schedule may occur. Sundays, 10:00-11:15 AM; meet in the Welcome Center by 10:15 AM. (The Docent Guild is available on the 1st and 3rd Sundays of each month.) The Shepherd Choir then processes and sings during the Sunday 9:00 AM worship service (along with the Training Choir and Choristers). During the sermon hymn, they return to Room 202, Payne Education Center for rehearsals and vocal technique training. Thu., Apr 22	St. Cecilia Guild The St. Cecilia Guild assists the Music Ministry. The efforts include working with the extensive music library, preparing music files for the adult and children's choirs, and occasionally organizing refreshments for choir members. We also need help with the children and youth choirs; those with organizational skills are sought to monitor attendance. For information, contact David Henning, D.M.A. at 713/985-3820. Thu., Apr 22	St. Martin's Bell Choir (rehearsal) The St. Martin's Bell Choir is welcoming new ringers. The ability to read music is encouraged. The love and enthusiasm for music is strongly nurtured in this group. The art of handbell ringing is an outgrowth of the ancient art of change ringing in the English Cathedrals and is an art currently practiced by such groups as the Dorothy Shaw Handbell group heard at St. Martin's last year. Thu., Apr 22	St. Martin's Choir (rehearsal) St. Martin's Choir is a rewarding place of service to the Lord and our congregation. Singing for the 9:00 and 11:15 AM services, the Choir enjoys being accompanied by our terrific Gloria Dei Organ. A variety of classical music, renewal songs and traditional hymns give members opportunities to learn and appreciate the many different styles of sacred music composed for Christians and the Church. Part singing is a standard practice. New members find strong support from seasoned singers in the Choir who provide encouragement and support. Try us out!
