This Senior Ministry is part of the Pastoral Care Ministries, which endeavors to use its time and gifts to serve Church members and others in our community who suffer with memory loss. The program provides a safe and loving environment filled with creative and stimulating activities for care partners, and allows their care givers respite from the day-to-day care and often difficult support required by care partners.
The Gathering's activities are centered around the timeless connection of music - singing favorite songs together; enjoying the camaraderie of games; reminiscing with friends who can relate to their experiences; making new friends while participating in fun craft projects and sharing the fellowship of a good meal. Divorce Recovery is a six-week series of seminars designed to help those who are divorced, going through a divorce or even contemplating one. The series is not therapy and cannot replace the need for individual counseling, but is intended to provide helpful guidance and support for those dealing with the emotional struggles at the end of a marriage. While integrating the Christian perspective on life, death and resurrection, presentations include how to "suffer well" through the stages of grief; how to embrace the new reality of being "unattached;" and how to avoid repeating destructive patterns in new relationships. All lectures are followed by small-group discussions.
Beginning Sunday, March 4, we will meet from 4:00-6:00 PM in Room 210-212, Payne Education Center, continuing weekly meetings through Sunday, April 15 (no meeting on April 8).
The cost is $20/person. The deadline to RSVP is Friday, March 2.

She holds a bachelor's degree in Psychology and a master's degree in Mass Communications from Oklahoma State University, and a master's degree in Christian Counseling from Houston Baptist University. She also holds a Certificate in Youth and Family Ministry from the Episcopal Theological Seminary of the Southwest in Austin. We continue our work on the OSL study guide, Going Deeper - Year 1. This study course is offered to all who wish to deepen their journey of knowledge, wisdom and experience of God's healing work with the whole creation through our Lord Jesus Christ.

Prayer of the Heart: Compassion, Love and Healing

The Pastoral Care ministry will train all volunteers. This is an extremely rewarding ministry. We would love to have you join us! This Senior Ministry is part of the Pastoral Care Ministries, which endeavors to use its time and gifts to serve Church members and others in our community who suffer with memory loss. The program provides a safe and loving environment filled with creative and stimulating activities for care partners, and allows their care givers respite from the day-to-day care and often difficult support required by care partners.
The Gathering's activities are centered around the timeless connection of music - singing favorite songs together; enjoying the camaraderie of games; reminiscing with friends who can relate to their experiences; making new friends while participating in fun craft projects and sharing the fellowship of a good meal.
