  • About Child care:
We provide age appropriate loving and learning for infants and toddlers. Located in Founders' Hall, there are three distinct nurseries to nurture your child's developmental level. Our caregivers provide a joyful space for children to grow through one on one interactions and creative play with others. For more information, contact Kimberly Sandver at 713/830-4123.

    About Preschool:
Music with Miss Ophelia, then worship at the Family Table. Contact Jamie Martin Currie, Lay Minister for Children's Christian Education, at 713/985-3829. Click here to request information on the children's singing program.

    About the Family Table (Worship):
Imagine your family's life together without a family table. Difficult, right? The family of God is no different. The families with young children of St. Martin's gather weekly around our Lord's family table to worship, hear and share Holy Communion and for the pure joy of being His children. We meet Sundays, 9:30-10:15 AM in the Old Church, for child-friendly liturgy, live music, and dramatic storytelling of the Gospel. This service honors our traditional Episcopal liturgy while fully engaging the whole family together in worship. If you are arriving at 9:00 AM, please take your children with you to the 9:00 AM service. The children will be dismissed from that service, and taken to the "Family Table" service that starts at 9:30 AM. Following the "Family Table" service, children will be taken to their Christian Education classes. You may pick up your child from that class at 11:00 AM. Contact Jamie Martin Currie, Lay Minister for Children's Christian Education, at 713/985-3829.

    About Godly Play:
This Montessori-approach to children's formation was developed by The Rev. Dr. Jerome Berryman, understanding that children have a desire to learn liturgical language while exploring their relationship with God and Jesus on their own terms. While learning the lessons of the Old and New Testaments, children learn to fall in love with God all over again and again. The program is child-centered and is story-based, using beautiful materials and open-ended wondering questions to allow the child to place themselves in the various stories of God's people. Contact Jamie Martin Currie, Lay Minister for Children's Christian Education, at 713/985-3829.

    About Bible Learning Adventure STations:
B.L.A.ST. (Bible Learning Adventure STations) is a rotation program that explores and teaches Bible stories, Episcopal traditions and moral themes. Creative workshops include fine arts, engaging drama, imaginative cooking, Bible-based computer games, dynamic storytelling, inventive science, inspired games and thought-provoking films. Children meet in a different room each week; just look for your colored ribbon. Our Christian Education program is a Blast! Contact Jamie Martin Currie, Lay Minister for Children's Christian Education, at 713/985-3829.

    About Cyber Cafe 45:
Our preteens will tackle tough questions as we dig into the real-life issues they are dealing with most. We engage through attention-grabbing lessons, delicious food, fun games and deep life-changing Bible lessons. These young people will connect throughout the week with their very own safe and secure online community. A light breakfast is served. Contact Jamie Martin Currie, Lay Minister for Children's Christian Education, at 713/985-3829.

Sat., Aug 01 Calling young women (age 10-13) to form a Junior Daughters of the King (DOK) Chapter
St. Martin's is calling all young women, age 10-13, to help form a Junior chapter of the Daughters of the King.

We are Junior members of the Order of the Daughters of the King. A Junior Chapter is a group of three or more young women and girls who make a promise to pray daily and serve our Lord Jesus Christ. We are under the guidance and support of our Senior Chapter. A Senior Daughter serves as the Directress and is our leader. Junior Daughters are girls and young women from 10 to 13 years of age. Membership is extended to baptized girls.

Our chapter gives us a special opportunity to grow in love and knowledge of our Lord Jesus Christ, while serving our Church and community. We experience the joy of belonging to Christian fellowship with friends and mentors. We study the Bible, discuss our faith, support each other, and pray for the needs of our community and our world.

We wear a silver cross with the initials FHS -- For His Sake -- as a symbol of our promise. For Christ's sake we pray, we serve, and we reach out in love to all.

For more information, contact Marjorie Littlejohn.

Tue., Sep 01 Calling young women (age 10-13) to form a Junior Daughters of the King (DOK) Chapter
