Middle School

Youth in grades 6-8 "cross the bridge" from Children's Ministry to Youth Ministry at our 5th-6th Grade Bowling Party. This is the beginning of a season of mission trips to Galveston, Episcopal Youth Community (EYC) and Sunday School at the Island. During the week, youth can join a Key Group for fellowship and Bible study with others their age and gender; it's a great way to meet people outside of school. Those in 7th grade can train to serve as Acolytes. Those in 8th grade attend a Confirmation class and retreat in the spring, with the goal of being Confirmed a few months later.

High School

Youth Ministry for grades 9-12 is the same as for middle schoolers, it's just ramped up a notch. Mission trips are out of state or even to another hemisphere; think Chicago or Nicaragua! We participate in outreach projects and take an annual ski trip to Colorado. During the week, youth will find more Key Groups with peers who are experiencing the same joys and struggles typical of teens propelling towards adulthood. We have retreats, lock-ins, summer camp at Camp Allen and more. Many of our high schoolers graduate to serve as Key Group Leaders or in Young Adult Ministries.

Key Groups

Key Groups are small groups that allow youth to connect with students their age and gender. Key Groups meet for one hour, one evening a week; members of each Key Group determine their scheduled meeting time. This model allows students to build stronger, Christ-centered relationships with other students. Key Groups meet in parishioner’s homes to foster a deeper level of community among students and parents alike. Our Key Group Retreat in November is a chance to take off and leave town with friends both old and new, and deepen your growing relationship with Christ. Click here to access our Key Groups page.
