Men of St. Martin’s Kick-Off Meeting

Featuring Guest Speaker Dr. Paul T. Sloan.

The Gospel of Matthew invites readers to encounter Israel’s long-awaited Messiah who was sent to His people to rescue the lost sheep of Israel, provide the authoritative interpretation of God’s Law, deliver those oppressed by Satan and usher in the time of Israel’s and all the nations’ obedience to the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit.

Dr. Paul T. Sloan is an associate professor of Early Christianity at Houston Christian University and Chair of the Department of Theology. In 2016, he earned a doctorate in New Testament Studies from the University of St. Andrews in Scotland, specializing in the Gospel of Mark. His current research focuses on the Law and its reception in early Jewish and Christian texts, especially the Gospels and Paul’s letters. Sloan and his wife, Meghan, live in Houston with their three children.
