A Conversation with the Rt. Rev. Anthony Poggo

The Rt. Rev. Anthony Poggo, Secretary General of the Anglican Communion, discusses how we can support the Anglican Communion and why it is important. Based in London, he provides strategic leadership to the Anglican Communion Office, supporting Primates’ Meetings, the Anglican Consultative Council, and serving as secretary to the Lambeth Conference.

Bishop Anthony was appointed Secretary General on Sept. 1, 2022, after serving as the Archbishop of Canterbury’s Adviser on Anglican Communion Affairs. He was ordained a deacon in 1995 and a priest in 1996.

A Conversation with the Archbishop of Jerusalem

The Most Rev. Dr. Hosam Elias Naoum, Anglican Archbishop in Jerusalem and Primate of the Province of Jerusalem and the Middle East, discusses the blessings and challenges of overseeing God’s mission in a time of war.

In 1988, Archbishop Hosam was ordained as a deacon in Nablus/Rafedia and was ordained as a priest in 1999. In 2011, he earned a Master of Theology degree in Canon Law from Virginia Theological Seminary (VTS) in the U.S. and completed his doctoral studies in the summer of 2019. Consecrated as Bishop Coadjutor in June 2020, he was installed as the 15th Anglican Bishop in Jerusalem in 2021. In May 2022, he was also awarded a Doctor of Divinity degree from (VTS). In addition to overseeing the 28 parishes and 30+ institutions of the diocese, Archbishop Hosam also serves as the Secretary to the Patriarchs and Heads of Churches in Jerusalem and is actively involved in the work of ecumenical and interfaith dialogues.

Garwood Anderson, Ph.D., has been a member of the Nashotah House faculty since 2007 and has served as Dean since 2017. Before coming to Nashotah House, Anderson was on the faculty of Asbury Theological Seminary (Orlando, Fla., campus), where he was recognized with the 2006-2007 Excellence in Teaching and Learning Award. Anderson’s research interests center especially on narrative approaches to reading the Gospels, the parables of Jesus, Pauline soteriology, and the theological appropriation of the New Testament.
