Sundays, Feb. 16 and 23
10:15-11 a.m. • Founders’ Hall
Led by the Rev. Sharron L. Cox, this class examines life, faith and prayer through presentations, spiritual practices, group conversation and sharing.
In the Gospel of Luke, Jesus redirects His followers from thinking that the Kingdom of God, or the reign of God, is an external event that will come into physical existence either during his lifetime or sometime in the future. Instead, Jesus says, “‘… the kingdom of God is within you.’” (Luke 17:21)
If the Kingdom of God is within us, how do we make room for Christ with so many competing thoughts, desires and motivations? How can we grow and improve our ability to love God, love our neighbor and love ourselves? A commitment to the inner work of prayer and introspection is necessary to cultivate the interior life where God makes His home within us.
