Choral Evensong

Featured image for “Choral Evensong”

Choral Evensong traces its roots to ancient monastic worship, where communities sang all 150 psalms and read Scripture throughout the day and night, seeking to “pray without ceasing.” Evensong centers on psalms, Scripture readings, and prayers for the Church and world, framed by the canticles Magnificat and Nunc dimittis. This structure was formalized in the 1662 Book of Common Prayer and has remained largely unchanged, preserving a centuries-old pattern of sung prayer within the Anglican tradition. Join us for this longstanding and deeply moving tradition.

Family Table and Riverway Music Ministry

Music is an important part of the Family Table service. Our music is fun and participatory, covering a wide repertoire. Many of the songs are hymns that Christians have sung for centuries. Family Table is where every member of the family can make a joyful noise unto the Lord!

The worship music played during the Riverway Contemporary service has evolved into a unique musical expression . Music from every genre — from classic hymns to modern worship songs — is arranged especially for Riverway. Whether worshipping through singing or silence, St. Martin’s contemporary worship music allows worshipers to connect with the Lord.

Our musicians bring decades of experience performing in a wide variety of venues and musical genres and are some of Houston’s finest.

Make A Joyful Noise Through Music!
Middle and high school students who are interested in worship through music, make plans to join the St. Martin’s Youth Choir in the fall. No experience is necessary! We perform during the 11:15 a.m. Traditional Service at The Church twice each semester, and we also mentor the Young Singers in their music-making. Come be a part of our community!

Youth Choir will resume in Aug. 2025.

What our singers are saying:

“Youth Choir is one of my favorite times of the week. Not only do I get to spend time with my sisters through Christ, but we also get to glorify our Lord together. Please come join us! I look forward to making music with you!” Ava C.

“I love the choir because I am so close with the other singers, and we make beautiful music together. We sound like literal angels.” Evelyn G.

For the last 15 minutes of each session, we have prayer time to prepare for the Family Table service. No experience is necessary and we look forward to having you join us as we raise our voices in song to praise God’s holy name.

Young Singers will resume in Aug. 2025.

Our choir is dedicated to coming together to create beautiful music in worship. There are no auditions or pressure — just a shared love for music and worship. We understand life is busy — come as often as you can. If you feel out of practice or unsure, don’t worry. Your voice will grow with time, and we’ll pair you with experienced singers to support you.

Beyond music, our choir is a family. We work hard, but we also enjoy wonderful fellowship, choir parties and the joy of singing together. The most important thing you can bring is yourself and a willing heart.
