Africa New Life exists to communicate the message of Jesus Christ in word and deed, to Rwanda and all nations. Lives and communities are transformed by providing access to education, leadership training, and healthcare; through church planting and Christian discipleship; and through holistic care for vulnerable children, and women and men in need.

Amistad Mission is a non-profit organization that seeks to manifest Christ’s love for the poor by helping Bolivian children and families in need. They have a la Villa orphanage in Cochabamba, Bolivia where St. Martin’s sponsors the children of Casa San Martin and their mama.

Faith in Practice seeks to improve the physical, spiritual and economic conditions of the at-risk Guatemalans by providing medical care and health-related educational programs.

Houston International Seafarers Center provides a “home away from home” for seafarers visiting the Port of Houston through a ministry of presence, outreach, witness, worship and service.

Adult-sized shoeboxes are needed for the upcoming Seafarer’s Christmas Box project. If you have shoeboxes you can donate, please drop them off at the Front Reception Desk, Monday-Friday, 9 a.m.-4 p.m.

Sole Hope works to bring hope and healing to Ugandan children suffering from foot parasites called jiggers that, if left untreated, can cause them to drop out of school and be shunned by their community.

Shoe Parties are an excellent way for you to make a global impact without ever leaving Houston. During your home party, you will cut and prepare fabric uppers from old jeans that will be used by Sole Hope’s Ugandan cobblers to handcraft shoes for vulnerable kids. Last year, St. Martin’s volunteers cut out over 350 shoe patterns that were then sent to Ugandan cobblers.

This is a true hands-on opportunity for people of all ages to join in the shoemaking process! No special sewing or cobbler skills required, and all supplies are provided. This project is kid-friendly and great for the whole family!

Kits are available for pick up by sign up on Wednesday starting at 10 a.m. from the Front Reception Desk and should be returned to the same location by the following Monday at 3 p.m.

Join us as we travel to Rwanda in September 2026 to visit our ministry partner, Africa New Life Ministries!

St. Martin’s has supported their Women’s Development Program for several years. We will see this program in Kigali: talking with women currently in the program and some who have graduated. We will also visit their main school campus in Kayonza and visit with some of the students. Additional activities may include visiting historical museums, visiting rural communities, going on safari and other cultural activities.

This trip is being rescheduled for 2027.

Sus Hijos with ministry partner, Kurt Ackermann and his organization Sus Hijos, serve children, families, and the homeless in the city of San Salvador.

We are going to El Salvador to work alongside Sus Hijos in March 2026!

March 7-12

The Rev. Gregory Cross will lead this mission trip during Spring Break. Adults and families are invited to serve with St. Martin’s ministry partner, Kurt Ackermann, and his organization, Sus Hijos. Together, we will be the hands and feet of Jesus. Trip activities may include visiting an orphanage, building a house for a needy family, handing out food and clothing at a community outreach event, and ministering to special needs children on a beach trip – all while deepening their faith and ours.

Texas Water Mission supports communities in need by providing safe drinking water and hygiene solutions.

Village Schools International has a dual mission: to enable those in villages who would otherwise never get to go to school to have the opportunity to get an education; and to send missionaries into villages where missionaries have never lived before to share the Gospel. We partner with people in villages in Tanzani, Malawi, Zambia, Uganda, and Kenya to help them build their own schools.

In addition to our work with global mission organizations, St. Martin’s also financially and spiritually supports individuals called to long term service in the global mission field.

St. Martin’s also supports a missionary team which, due to the threat of violence against Christians in the area they are serving, we cannot disclose who they are or where they serve. Please pray for them and their ministries.

St. Martin’s began supporting Tom Gruen and his family in 2018. Tom, his wife Kelsey and their five children, Henry, Peter, Gracie, Samuel and Wesley, share the Gospel and minister to the underserved children of Uganda, Africa. Tom works through EMI, Engineering Ministries International, whose mission is to develop people, design structures and construct facilities which serve communities and the Church.
